Community Impact: Volunteers Rock!

Annual Earth Day Cleanup

Garden cleanup is more fun together! Some of our volunteers gathered together on March 29 for a fun and rewarding cleanup of Riverside Neighborhood Community Garden in Austell.

The event focused on the mini food forest MGE planted last year, and was a huge success with nearly 50 volunteers attending to mulch, weed, and build a new shed to house supplies. The forest is now starting to flower and produce fruit, creating impact for the community it serves.

The forest is part of a massive, nationwide effort in advance of the U.S.A.’s 250th birthday in 2026. Other environmental efforts as a part of the celebration have included a National Liberty Tree Project, where at least one tree is being planted in each state in honor of the original Liberty Tree in Boston.
