Cobb County School Recycles 7,278 Pounds!

PTA’s Support Leads to Enormous Impact

As a new school year begins, let’s take a moment to commend Mountain View Elementary for committing to continue recycling in their classrooms. Mountain View Elementary, thanks to the generous support of their PTA, launched a classroom recycling program during the 2022/2023 school year, diverting 7,278 pounds of waste from the landfill. Recycling saves energy, and MVES saved the equivalent of 2,561 gallons of gasoline by recycling last school year. From an environmental impact perspective, that is equivalent to removing 5 cars from the road for an entire year!

The introduction of recycling practices in the classrooms not only demonstrates the school’s commitment to environmental conservation but also equips their students with lifelong skills for responsible resource management.

Beyond the Classroom

Teaching children the importance of recycling goes beyond mere environmental awareness. It lays the foundation for a broader sense of responsibility towards the planet and its limited resources.
